Knoydart Forest Trust is a separate company from the Knoydart Foundation, but is nevertheless responsible for a large area of Foundation land. Its primary purpose is to look after the wooded areas of the peninsula, and improve the biodiversity of such areas.

The KFT are also responsible for wooded areas not owned by Knoydart Foundation, such as those at Kilchoan Estate. In total the Trust are responsible for stewarding the land of 10 different owners on the Knoydart Peninsula.

The Forest Trust employs local residents to carry out their operations. Current employees are:

Grant Holroyd (Community Forest Manager)

Danny Gorman (Community Forester)

Lorna Schofield (Administrator)

Karen Purvis (Forest Worker)

Angela Smith (Forest Worker)

 

Directors are elected from the local community. At the latest AGM in late September 2009, Tommy McManmon and Toby Robinson stood down because they had been in post for the maximum possible time, and were replaced by Roger Trussell and Jim Manthorpe. Current directors are:
