Ranger news: courses
Kayaking, Dry-stane Dyking and Polytunnel Cultivation
Our Ranger Service has been working with West Highland College (UHI) in Mallaig to bring some exciting courses to Knoydart over the past couple of months.
The KAYAKING course proved very popular, and was over-subscribed from the start. 10 locals, under the expert guidance of Paddle Lochaber owners Mark and Keith McKerral, spent two days learning new paddling techniques on an absolutely stunning, sunny, flat-calm day. The course was so popular that we have asked the instructors to come back again!
We also ran a POLYTUNNEL CULTURE course, and a DRY-STANE DYKING course, both instructed by the excellent Soily Pete from Ardnamurchan. The latter course has resulted in a lovely back-garden wall for new Forest Trust worker Jack!
