About Knoydart and the Foundation
Activities
Wild Knoydart. Hire the rangers to take you on an photographic expedition you'll never forget, take part in team-building activities, or simply join the stalkers for a traditional day on the hill as part of our deer management programme.
Guided walks. There are a number of ranger-led guided walks; from two hour wildlife rambles in the woods to all-day hikes in the hills. The schedule for guided walks is reproduced below.
Nature trails. Why not do the Knoydart in a Knutshell walk if visiting for a short time? We have produced a self-guiding walks leaflet for this route which can be purchased for £1. Discover some of the hidden gems to be found only minutes from Inverie village. If you have a map you can explore further afield in the woods or along the coast with the help of our walks leaflets such as "Day Walks from Inverie". You can buy all nine leaflets, plus a Wildlife of Knoydart booklet, for £10 - just call the Foundation Office on 01687 462242 to order with your debit or credit card (p&p charges apply).
Mountain bike trails. There are now red and blue mountain-biking trails in Inverie woods. You need to bring your own mountain bike as there are no hire facilities here! Also, it's an idea to ride with a buddy...you'll get stunning views of Loch Nevis and some gnarly challenges too!
Wildlife. If you are interested in getting closer to Knoydart’s wildlife, such as badgers, pine martens, wildcats, otters and red deer, the ranger service can help. There are a number of wildlife hides from where you have more chance of seeing some of these native species.
Conservation volunteer days. Rhododendron clearing, beach cleaning, footpath restoration - if you would like to get involved with these or any other conservation activities please get in touch with the rangers.
