What to do in Knoydart

Most people visit Knoydart to appreciate its beauty, grandeur and tranquillity. Many come to climb the 3 Munroes whilst others come to explore our dramatic coastline or the lower hills. 2009 heralds even more choice in activities, as we celebrate 10 years of community ownership. For more details, check out the 10th Anniversary page.

For those making a flying visit 'between boats':

- explore the area around on a circular walk ("Knoydart in a Knutshell") - buy a leaflet from the Foundation Office

- join a Ranger guided walk, every Wednesday, which will introduce you to Knoydart and still have you back in the village in time for something to eat at the Tearoom or the Old Forge before the ferry departs in the afternoon (see the Ranger Service page for more details)

- visit the Knoydart Foundation Display Room and find out more about this special area

- enjoy a leisurely lunch at the Old Forge or the Pottery and Tearoom

For those staying a bit longer:

- hire a boat to go fishing, visit the islands or just to view our majestic coastline (see Getting Here for list of local boat hires)

- come photo stalking or explore Knoydart with one of our Rangers who have also developed a regular programme of events

- enjoy a day's deer-stalking (during the season)
